Not told about suicide in property

I bought my house last year and have only just found out that someone commited suicide in the house less than a year before. Legally should I have been informed of this? I wouldnt have even considered the property if I'd have known. The house is a stigmatised property now and I know it won't be as saleable in the future.

  • It's not a standard question on the pre-contract enquiries form, if you didn't ask, why should anyone be obliged to guess what will spook a potential buyer?

  • That’s a shame, but nobody is obliged to tell you I’m afraid. Jeff.
