  • Hi Pharmstar, Since the Budget last year, the government has been trying to improve the number of first timers who are coming onto the market by offering a range of different deals that can help if you have a low deposit. One example of this is the Help to Buy scheme, which was previously under the banner of NewBuy. This allows first timers to purchase a newly-built home without the full deposit banks normally ask for. Typically you would need five per cent of the value of a home to purchase through this scheme. To see more about this, please click the link below. Other options available might include the likes of shared ownership. These are schemes that are run by housing associations, and to qualify you have to be able to prove that you could not otherwise afford to buy a house. They are good options for those without the provision to buy under normal circumstances though. Many thanks, Scott
