Non Standard Construction

My bungalow is listed as a non standard construction even though its had its foundations strengthened and a brick skin but around it and a new roof with concrete tiles. I have had an offer on the detached bungalow but unfortunately the purchases are struggling to find someone to give them a mortgage. Surely with the brick skin which has been done correctly through planning etc makes it a better property and with how property is built this day I can't see a problem. Is there anywhere they would def get a mortgage from?

  • Hello, Sorry to hear about this, it can be a tricky situation. However, there are some specialist mortgage companies that will lend on "non-standard constructed" properties - it would be best to advise buyers that they would need to approach specialist brokers to access the best products.
