Should we convert the town house?

We are planning to buy a 3 floor town house. The house has a a garage and a guest room on the ground floor, living room and kitchen on the first floor, and two bedrooms on the third floor. We are thinking to move the kitchen and the living room to the ground floor by converting the garage, however, we are unsure whether this will be unconventional on a town house and will be a negative point once we want to sell. Please advise us. What do you think? Does moving the kitchen and living room to the ground floor improves the house or its not proper for 3 floor house?

  • Hello - much will depend on the local demand. It may be considered a shame to remove the garage by some, but then there are certainly benefits of having the kitchen and living room on the ground floor. I would suggest speaking to estate agents who have sold similar properties for their opinions... Thanks, Ruban
