Value adding improvements to home

We are looking to build a single storey extension/loft conversion(adding 2 bed and ensuite)/New kitchen. We live in a 1930s 3 bed ex-council semi in Waddon. Are these the best value improvements at current time and what value are they likely to add?

  • Hello Justin, it's often hard to put an exact on the amount of added value an extension / loft conversion would bring but you may want to see if any other properties in the area have had similar works undertaken? Feel free to post the address on here and I'll be happy to undertake some research.

  • While the loft can certainly add value, I recommend working in this order: Return on Investment Conservatory 108% Garden 88% Exterior 75% Extension 71% Roof 63% Floor carpets 50% Loft 50% It's the rear of the house that has the best ROI when it comes to adding value to your property.
