Does adding a garage to a property with the space add value?
I have a 3 bed end terrace house with a fair size garden, there is comfortably enough room to park 3 cars on the drive, there is parking directly out the front with a drive down the side of the house leading to an old DIY pack style garage. The garage is detached from the house but needs to come down as it has seen better days. I am wondering if replacing the garage with a Brick or Timber garage would be beneficial and add value to the property to justify the expense? I have builders in the family which helps keep costs down slightly. The garage would still remain detached from the house. What is the general rule of thumb for adding a garage to a property?
