Wall paper and painting

I am seeking a 3 bedroom house in the West Midlands area. Can we, tenants, replace wallpaper or paint interior walls?

  • Hello, I've just posted on your other question. It will entirely depend on what conditions are contained within the tenancy agreement. Usually, you are not permitted to make any changes without the express permission of the Landlord or their Agent. If you're still viewing properties, its best to be upfront with the Agent or Landlord and ask permission as part of your application.

  • Hello - Lee is right, you would need to speak to the landlord direct. However, most would not have any objections as long as you are willing to paint it back the original colour when you move out. If it's a neutral colour, there also shouldn't be too much of a problem.
