1991 prices in EX8 2AU?

Please detail/compare 1991 prices for 2 bed flat in Douglas Ave. Trying to establish whether current Council tax band of E is accurate and valid.

  • Band E sounds high for a flat, but you never know! Halifax have a calculator online or a local surveyor/long established agent will help for a small fee.

  • Hi ann97, you can check house prices as mentioned above by having a look at the Lloyds TSB calculator, which can tell you how much the price of the house was in 1991. I had a look and checked around, and for the average two-bedroom house in your street, the current selling price is about £430,000. Using this as the figure for the calculator, it has estimated that the price of your home in 1991, in April in particular, which is the month used for working out tax bands, the price would have been around £165,000. It might be more accurate though if we knew the price of your current home as this does seem to be higher than tax band E at that price. Thanks, Scott
