How badly do new houses depreciate?

I am considering moving up the property ladder and a new built by Cala homes, ie the King's Lea at Newlands Dairy in East Kilbride has caught my eyes. The price is about £390000. Its a 5 bedroom detached house. I am concerned this price might be more than the house will be worth if I were to sale it in future or re-mortage it. Will this be the case? Do new houses lose their value like a new car will?

  • Have you been living under a rock for the last 30 yr. Houses are the only assets that you at once use and appreciate (usually). If do buy a 30k BMW after drivinging for 10 mins the best bid you'll get on the spot is 20k.Downsize live off the spare cash! Enjoy yourself !
