Buying the leasehold on my house.

My ground rent is £6 pa, I have been offered the to buy the leasehold for £450 legal fees. Is there any resources to find out of this is a good deal, what the legal fees will be, what value will it add to the property?

  • Hello - there are specific calculations on this. I would suggest looking at the Leasehold Advisory site. In the "SERVICES DIRECTORY" you can find local specialists.

  • I think you mean but the freehold: as you are currently paying ground rent you must already be a leaseholder. Generally this is a good thing.

  • I would imagine you mean the Freehold. We would always recommend buying the Freehold. £450 is not unreasonable. Legals will be £300 circa.
