Too many house for sale

Why are there so many houses for sale now? Loads of people are selling up now and the house prices at the moment are extremely high. For example, 12 months ago a house was £50,000, now the same house is £75,000. What is going on especially in Shelton Stoke on Trent area?

  • Hello Omia - although it depends on the area, an increase in supply can mean that prices tend to drop. Are you looking at estate agency estimations? If so, I would suggest looking at sold prices (via the Land Registry) for a more accurate idea of what is happening to prices. Thanks, Ruban
