  • The cost of moving house totals far more than just your deposit! First of all there is the conveyance and survey fees to think about before you have even finalised your sale – after all, you need to know that your new home is structurally as good as it looks! Then there’s the paperwork like land registry fees and stamp duty which can go up or down based on house worth and which you absolutely cannot move without, and then there are even more fees on the day of moving house. Removals can quickly add up in cost depending on how much furniture you are moving and how far you are moving it. And once you’re in, you’ll have mortgage payments and council tax to consider, which may be significantly more than your last property.
