Mine shaft near property.

We have seen a house we like and following a mine report found that there are 2 treated mine shafts within 20metres of the property, is it worth a risk buying? Would you expect the asking price to be reduced due to presence of mine entries (vendor apparently wasn't aware of mines).

  • It can be risky but mine shafts are common across the Midlands and the North. It's probably worth getting a more detailed survey undertaken to check for potential subsidence risks...
