Long term renting question.

My partner and I rented a house and specified we wanted long term rent. This was agreed and now the landlord has given us notice at 4 months to be out at 6 months. Taking into account the cost of finance checks, moving costs etc. can this be right?

  • Check your Landlord actually wants possession,its not uncommon for Landlords to serve a section 21 notice but with no intention of wanting vacant possession. Unfortunately if the Landlord does want possession, regardless of what was verbally agreed it would seem you sign a 6 month tenancy which would only give 6 months of secure tenancy.
