Deposit for a place in Cardiff

Saw a property I like and it’s not available until June/July time. I viewed the property but they want me to pay the bond and the agency fees for it now. Do I pay it now? What if something happens to the property, tenants want to extend their contact or the agency goes bankrupt? How would I get my bond back?

  • Hello - no you shouldn't pay it now, that is way too far ahead. Perhaps offer to pay a small holding fee (and make sure you have a contract in place) - but I would suggest nothing more than that. I would be wary as well, asking for money so far in advance is unusual and seems a suspicious.
