Paying rent in advance of tenancy

Is it possible to pay rent (for example six month's worth) at the start of the tenancy in order to avoid having to provide a guarantor, credit/bank/work checks and certain agent fees?

  • Unfortunately not, credit checks are usually compulsory these days. You may be able to avoid agency fees by renting from a landlord direct.
