What is a tenancy agreement?

Is a tenancy agreement just what lets me live in a place?

  • Hi Laura, A tenancy agreement is the contract you have between a landlord and a resident. It allows the resident to live within the property for rent, as long as certain parts of the contract aren't violated. There are two kinds of tenancies; fixed-term and periodic. Fixed-term tenancies are for a set period of time, while periodic ones run on a week-by-week or month-by-month basis. Many thanks, Dan
