Lease agreement 24months

State agency is persuading me that landloard want a 24months agreement without break clause. I can't only leave if pay 10% of rent for the resting months. Is the a respectufl agreement? Why can't I have a 12months contract?

  • Hello - that does sound slightly unusual. I would request that the break clause and 10% monthly remainder rent are removed - if not, probably best to walk away. I´m not sure if these clauses would actually stand up in court.
