Renting first time as a foreigner

I'm moving to Manchester in January, currently I'm still living in Hungary. I have no background in the UK at all, however I have a permanent job contract, and a guarantor who lives in the UK, and has a reliable credit history. I'm also ready to pay 2-3 months is advance. Does it make sense to initiate the searching now, to ensure the renting in advance, or at least to accelerate the process somehow? Can I arrange anything remotely?

  • Yes, I think it would be a good idea to start looking now and it sounds like you shouldn't have too many issues with getting a tenancy. Is there any way you could come over to the UK for a couple of days to attend some viewings? Everything else (contracts, deposits etc.) can be done online so you'll be able to sort all of that remotely... Thanks, Ruban
