We are coming from USA to rent in the UK, is that a problem? and how

I'm a retired UK citizen married to an American wanting to rent in Norfolk

  • Hello Rob - most lettings agents / landlords will start with a credit reference - but according to Experian: "Unfortunately, credit reports can’t be imported into the UK from the US, so any credit history you built up in the States won’t be visible here. This means that when you move here you essentially start with a blank slate..." However, their website also says "You may have some credit history built up in the UK already – a copy of your credit report will reveal this." Do you have any references from previous landlords / employers (even from the US) and/or some kind of guarantor? Thanks, Ruban
