Difficulties to rent with pets

What to do when the landlord is ok with having pets but the agency that is renting it is not?

  • Offer an extra bond to cover any move out refurbishments needed ie cat scratches to walls, fixtures/fittings, offer to provide professional flea treatment of property on move out, ask landlord to tell letting agents that they are fine about your pets. Some agents have a blanket 'no pets' policy, which becomes flexible when reasonable pet owners offer the solutions they would employ if they owned the house! Hope this helps. :)
