  • Hi Jackrussel2, In answer to your first question, yes, there are a number of different letting agents and landlords who will be able to let you a flat or house with pets or when you are on benefits. Unfortunately at the current time, with demand as high as it currently is, it can be a bit more difficult because most owners are trying to minimise their risk (either of damage caused by animals living there, or the perceived risk of not being paid by benefits tenants). However, they can be found, either by using the advanced search and keyword fields on Zoopla, or by speaking to your local council's housing department for the benefits issue. In terms of the length of rents, this is a variable. The average time someone will sign a lease for will be six months initially, with most people then looking for a month-to-month rolling agreement from there. However, this can change depending on circumstances, and some people, especially families, will rent for even longer, with some periods even lasting up to two years or more. Many thanks, Scott
