Can we rent with a bad credit score

We have a bad credit score, my husband has been made redundant twice - he's 62. We are selling our house, will have quite a decent amount in the bank and be able to pay rent in advance, 12 months if needed. Would we be taken on as tenants despite our bad credit score?

  • Hi Soowoo1, A bad credit score can be an issue when trying to rent a property, but it's definitely not always a dealbreaker. If you're able to pay 12 months up front your credit issues are less likely to be of concern. You may also be able to negotiate a slightly cheaper rent given you can pay the 12 months up front. Many thanks, Dan
