  • Hi NickyCaskey123, In the most basic terms, the crime levels in Southend-on-Sea are fairly average when compared to the rest of the UK. You can look at all of the statistics compiled and updated by visiting the site and having a search for the town you specify. To break down the stats a little more – Southend-on-Sea has seen a crime rate that has been largely stable over the last two years up until September 2012, with barely any change, but this keeps it below the national average. In January of this year, there were a reported 222 incidents of crime in the area, but 289 outcomes recorded by the police. Comparing the area to others of a similar size around England and Wales, it can be seen that the levels are largely average, existing in the lower band of mean levels. However, it has a higher crime rate than in Essex as a whole. Many thanks, Scott
