  • Hi nikki, There are a couple of different ways to check the age of your property at the current time. One of these is to look towards the Land Registry. If the same developer who built your house was the first seller, then the Land Registry will have details of when the lease was first transferred, which should give you exactly the answer you are looking for. However, if they weren't the seller, it can be a little more complicated. A quick look at Google Street View shows that the houses in this area are relatively new still, so there are a number of tactics you can use to find the approximate date of build. Contact the estate agent you bought it from first and foremost, as they may hold details of when it was built on the sellers' property information sheet. On top of this, you can try talking to the surveyor who carried out the checks before you got your mortgage on your house, as they will have an approximate date noted down in the survey they did on your house. Alternatively, you might also try talking to the local council and seeing if they still hold details of the first time planning permission was granted for this area. Many thanks, Scott
