  • "The quickest way to get a hint of your house worth is to look at houses in your local area. If you’re near schools, stations and local amenities you could be quids-in when it comes to valuation prices, but don’t be fooled, house worth is about more than just location as well. Your neighbour’s newly refurbished property might be going for an enviable asking price, but if you’ve not touched up your place for the better part of a decade, have a damp problem you’ve been ignoring or have more than a few cosmetic issues that will obviously cost a new buyer time and money to fix, the value of your home can be worth less than the house just next door. Don’t think you can cover these issues up on the day of a viewing, either, a surveyor will quickly pick up on any obvious faults and regardless of your house value, buyers may decide against a property that requires a lot of work.
