If a house is sold to contact, can someone else go in with higher price on same house?

I love this house but it was sold to contact before we could put an offer in, can I still but an offer in higher than the other person?

  • You can put in a higher offer which might be accepted. But much will depend on how strong your position is.

  • Yes, you can offer on this property, at anytime until exchange of contracts has taken place, but it is entirely up to the seller if they wish to accept your offer or not, and this will probably depend on your own ability to purchase the property, and how close the existing buyers are to exchanging contracts already.

  • Think you can but l look at it this way, if you had an offer accepted would you like it if someone put a higher bid? Personally l would not do it.
