Selling my house using agency service

I put my house for sale over one month ago but I haven't heard anything from the agency. Is it possible to use more then one agency to sell the house at the same time?

  • Dependent on your agency agreement, you can go multi agency i.e. using several different agents and agreeing the same fee with both. You can essentially use as many agents as you like, its your choice.

  • You have probably signed a sole agency agreement which means that you can't employ a new agent without your existing agent agreeing to it. If you speak to them and express you concerns, hopefully they will agree to changing to a multi agency agreement. We warned though that they will probably increase the fee up to as much as 3%.

  • If you would like to fetch/ email that agreement to me i'll see if I can help. Also I'll review the asking price with you. I attach a link to an RICS leaflet.

  • You will have a sole agency agreement but to go multi agency it will cost around 2% on average for Cardiff. However, you more than likely will be tied in for 12 to 16 weeks on the sole agencu agreement.
