Delay between buying and selling

What kind of time delay is there likely to be between buying a new property and selling your old property when you are a cash buyer and therefore not financially dependant on selling your old property? Assuming there are no major delays or slip ups.

  • Hello - As a cash buyer, you should be able to complete in a few weeks max as the only issues that will take a while would be the searches, if any problems appear with the survey and you do not work with a competent solicitor. With regards to the sale, you may find there are delays with the other buyer (especially if they are taking a new mortgage) - so the usual time frame is 2-3 months. Best of luck with your plans.
