Condition of carpets on sale

My father sold his house and moved out last Friday. Carpets were included in the sale. Between the viewing and completion my father had a fall and there were patches of blood on the carpet. He had the carpet cleaned and we let the buyers in a couple of hours early for them to reclean them. There are still blood marks on the carpet. The buyer is now demanding my father pays for new carpets to replace the stained area. I'm not sure what to do - the buyers have been quite "forceful" during the whole process and I'm sure they will take this further.

  • Hello Lynn, what an annoying situation. I would say bite the bullet and pay for it. You probably don't want the hassle of the buyer pulling out over something like this.
