Property for sale that needs a lot of work done

I am planning on downsizing and moving house. My current house requires a lot of interior decoration and some building work (needs central heating installed and a few other jobs). What are my best options? I was considering trying to sell it to someone who will just come in and gut the house completely as it may be a more valid option than selling to a first time buyer.

  • Hello, the market in Thornton Heath remains quite buoyant so I think you should be able to get a good price. However, you should expect your offers to be under the market value to factor in the refurbishment costs to bring the property back up to standard. Investor buyers / landlords will usually also want to include a standard profit margin - but other buyers who want to put their own stamp on the house may be willing to offer more.
