  • It's up to the Landlord whether they accept DSS or not so you could contact local agents and see which properties they have to offer. I can't see any contact details for you but our nearest office to Barnet is in Enfield & Southgate f you'd like to get in touch with them. Hope that helps

  • Hi nimota1, If you are looking for DSS properties in the UK, it can be quite a difficult thing to do at the moment, because landlords who have a high level of demand for their properties are still able to welcome what they perceive as being 'lower risk' tenants who are employed and bringing in a regular income. However, that's not to say you won't be able to find somewhere in Barnet to live if you are on DSS. There are many agents and landlords who will still work with you - it just takes a little bit of searching to find them. Try contacting your local council to see if they have a list of landlords who work with them for housing benefit tenants. Many councils do. Your other options from there mostly involve shopping around and asking agents if they would be able to accept your tenancy. You might want to try coming prepared though. If you can provide a reference from a former landlord or agent, or you have a guarantor, it can be best to have these with you as you will have a much better chance of finding a tenancy with these to your name. Many thanks, Scott
