There are more than 3,500 homes priced within £50k of £1m currently listed for sale on Zoopla. Here are 10 examples of what a budget like that could buy.

1. Six-bedroom detached house, St Andrews, Scotland, for £1m

If you want to live among the film stars, celebrities and politicians who frequent St Andrews, you'll need a million-pound property to match. So how about this one?
