1. Felixstowe, Suffolk, for £10,000

How better to enjoy a day by the sea than by taking a walk along the promenade and returning for a cup of tea in this pastel-painted beach hut in Old Felixstowe? It's priced at an affordable £10,000, although, as it's in the second row, doesn't come with direct sea views.

2. Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex, for £16,000

Panoramic views of the sea are on offer from this beach hut (above), which is equipped with kitchen and seating areas. Its sits on Southcliff Promenade in the traditional seaside town of Walton-on-the-Naze in Essex. If you can't spot yours among the four rows of huts, look out for the multi-coloured fence.

Available to Brighton and Hove residents only, this smart beach hut (above), is located close to Hove's bowling green and lagoon with its café and children’s play park. For a change of scene, you can walk to Brighton in around 30 minutes.

4. St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex, for £21,000

With its three miles of shingle beach, promenade and gardens, St Leonards – just next to Hastings – is an attractive holiday spot to own a beach hut like this one. History lovers will be interested to learn that St Leonards used to have a pier. But it was cut in half during the Second World War to protect against invasion on the beach. What was left took a direct hit in October 1940.

Southwold recently ranked third in a Zoopla report on the priciest places for sea-view properties.
