Calder Valley Blinds is a long established (1985) family-run business specializing in the manufacturing and installation of internal made to measure window blind systems for domestic, commercial and industrial customers in West Yorkshire. Operating from Cleckheaton, the business currently serves the area bounded by the major towns and cities of Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Halifax, Dewsbury and Wakefield.

The business is still run by its original owners, but ill health over the last eighteen months has resulted initially in manufacturing gradually being phased out, followed by installation. Current enquiries from new and existing customers are now being fed to other selected blind companies in return for payment of commission. However, the owners have now finally decided to fully retire and consequently the business is now for sale.

Over the years the company has carried out several thousand installations locally, and therefore the new owners can look forward to a continuation of enquiries from existing customers along with their recommendations, along with new enquiries generated by the companies’ impressive website.

Blinds can either be bought in or manufactured, and installed by the new owners. Trading figures for the last six months of 2014 based on bought-in blinds show a projected yearly turnover in excess of £36,000 with a projected gross profit in excess of £14,000. This last figure will obviously be enhanced if the manufacturing side of the business is re-established.

It is also worth mentioning that the above trading figures can be achieved by working part time in the business for less than ten hours per week. Now that the financial recovery is well and truly established it is not beyond belief that with plenty of endeavour and commitment, the turnover figures of previous years - £140,000 for 2004 for example - can once again be achieved.

In conclusion, we feel that either as a first step towards being self employed by an ambitious individual, or as an acquisition by an existing company wishing to increase their turnover, this offer represents a sensibly priced and potentially lucrative purchase.
