Purchased by our client just under a year ago, the business is reluctantly offered to the market due to the health of our client’s partner.
The diner itself has been established for 10 years and boasts an enviable position taking full advantage of surrounding light industrial businesses, offices, residential housing and shops. There is a new 70-person call centre directly across the road from the diner which our client has already established a good relationship with.
The business is split between 50% eat in and 50% takeaway trade. Due to the constraints, our client and his wife keep local deliveries to a minimum. A recent addition to the business is the new ‘Uber’ customer food to order service which involves food orders from local businesses, ordered directly through Uber who hold the diner’s menu. Orders are sent direct to an on-counter iPad. When the orders are ready for collection, our client simply clicks to say ready and a local Uber taxi driver will come into the diner to collect. The commission earned by Uber for this service is currently added to the current menu cost resulting in no additional cost to our client. Early indications imply this could add a further £300-£500 of extra sales per week.
