The Kings Arms is a delightful Grade II listed freehouse which has been painstakingly restored and refurbished to an exceptionally high standard. The trading areas exude warmth and character and the 3 en suite letting rooms help bolster business. The pub is frequented by many locals and regular together with a constant flow of visitors to Stratton on the Fosse. Downside School and Abbey attract visitors year round as does the surrounding Mendip area with a wealth of attractions for visitors to explore in the immediate area.

The Kings Arms prides itself on providing good home cooked food together with well kept real ales, craft beers, wines and a good range of other alcoholic products. The pub is in the 2018 Good Beer Guide and in 2017 was named in the top 20 ' UK Community Pubs of the Year'.

The business is owned and operated by a husband and wife team with a very small number of part time staff. The owners deliberately choose to operate evenings only during most of the week with opening hours from 6pm to 11pm Monday and Tuesday, 12pm - 2pm and 6pm to 11pm Wednesday to Saturday and 12pm to 11pm on Sunday. The letting rooms are extremely popular with great reviews on TripAdvisor and a B&B tariff of £64 for a single, £75 for a double up to £98 for the Family room at the height of the season. The remaining trade is split roughly 50/50 between wet and food. The Kings Arms provides a carvery on Sunday which has a very strong following.
