Location

Uisken is a small coastal settlement centered around a sheltered natural harbour located some 3 miles south of Bunessan, which is the largest village on the Ross of Mull. Bunessan offers all the usual village amenities including a Post Office, doctor’s surgery, several shops and a popular hotel serving bar meals. Lying some 5 miles west of Bunessan is the village of Fionnphort from where regular 10-minute ferry crossings depart to the neighbouring Island of Iona famed the world over for its Abbey. Also available from Fionnphort are sightseeing and wildlife trips to Fingal’s Cave on Staffa and the Treshnish Isles. Tobermory, the capital of the Isle of Mull, is located 42 miles away at the northern end of the island.

The Isle of Mull is served by regular ferry crossings from Oban and is the second largest and one of the most accessible of the Inner Hebrides. With wild mountainous upland and 300 miles of spectacular coastline, Mull offers awe-inspiring scenery and an abundance of wildlife including golden eagles, otters, seals, dolphins and whales. As such, Mull has a relatively long tourist season and receives large numbers of visitors well into October. Salmon, sea trout and brown trout fishing are readily available on the island. The surrounding coastal waters are a sailor’s paradise that allow ready access to the many and varied islands off the west coast of Mull including Iona, Staffa, the Treshnish Islands and Coll and Tiree.

Planning Permission

Planning Permission in Principle was renewed on 13 February 2019 (Plot 1 Ref: 18/02200/ppp & Plot 2 Ref: 18/02201/ppp) for the erection of two detached dwellinghouses. Copies of this Planning Permission is available on the Argyll & Bute Council’s website or on request with the selling agent.
