Enjoying a private and peaceful position in a picturesque rural location of great natural beauty, the subjects of sale present an opportunity to purchase a plot on which to build a permanent home, holiday home or weekend bolthole. The plot is approximately a quarter of an acre in size, is level and is easily accessed from a gravelled road which leads from the main road. Mains electricity and water are available for connection close by.

The property is located in an area of exceptional natural beauty in the picturesque settlement of Gruline, which lies approximately three miles to the west of the larger village of Salen, in a central position on the Isle of Mull. Gruline is the site of the Macquarie Mausoleum, the burial place of Major-General Lachlan Macquarie who is known as The Father of Australia for his work as Governor of New South Wales from 1810-1821. Mull itself is the most accessible of all the Inner Hebridean Islands, only a two hour drive north-west of Glasgow and a 45 minute sailing from Oban with regular daily sailings also from Fishnish to Lochaline and Tobermory to Kilchoan. The island is wonderfully diverse, with towering sea cliffs, white sandy beaches and a large mountain range with the peak of Ben More rising to over 3,000 feet. The island is a popular tourist destination attracting a range of people from walkers, to nature enthusiasts all the way through to traditional music fans attending one of the many music festivals held over the summer months. The island is also considered to be one of best locations in Britain for wildlife spotting, with frequent sightings of dolphins, otters, eagles and red deer. There are frequent sightings of Red and Fallow deer around the property, especially in the Autumn.

Planning Permission
Planning Permission in Principle was granted on 10 May 2013 for the erection of a one and a half storey detached dwellinghouse. The planning documents can be inspected in the offices of the selling agent.

Mains electricity and water are available for connection close by. Drainage will be private and to a septic tank.

From the ferry terminal at Craignure, proceed North on the A848 towards Tobermory. Once reaching the village of Salen, take the left hand turning in the middle of the village onto the B8035 and head towards Gruline. Keep to the main road, ignoring the turnoffs to the right for Calgary, and proceed along until passing the Church on the left hand side. Take the next right hand turning to Drumlang Lodge and proceed down the road, bearing right. The plot is on the right hand side of the track.
