Property description

For something quite traditional, with strikingly modern elements you really will be keen to see more and more of this home.

You'll walk under a beautiful passageway, across quaint cobblestones. It';s charming, and has a grand feel to it with the archway being quite spacious. Your door is pillar box red, a perfect accompaniment to the style of the location.

The lounge and dining room are super cosy. This room will make you want to sink into a large feather filled sofa, with a novel and piping hot cup of tea. It's charm comes from the handmade doors to the stoarge cupboards that echo the feel of the working original shutters. There's sash windows and beams to finish of this country home with a modern twist. It's such a spacious lounge diner, carefully opened up by the current owners. It flows beautifully and allows a myriad of different room layouts. You could keep the dining table to the rear and cosy lounge to the front, or get creative and move your most comfy sofa to sit by the log burner for a real winter lounge. Autumn and winter windy days never looked so appealing.

The kitchen is quite something too. In stark contrast to the cottage feel in the living area this kitchen is vibrant, modern and absolutely perfect for a polished look. The glossy kitchen cabinets in a warm slate grey are streamlined with hidden handles and the lighting bounces around the room from the sparkling worktops. There's built in oven, hob and extractor in a contemporary brushed steel finish and access to the back door too. Outside is peaceful. You are not overlooked, have a great deal of privacy for a little bit of rest and relaxation. A beautiful Bistro table would suit this space. How about a vintage white one with a bowl of fragrant strawberries on the side of a slice of fresh sponge cake? Read on to find out more about this homes' secret garden

Back in the house you have a door to the lower level. A perfect place for a workshop, a space for yoga, painting or pottery, currently this is a movie room, for popcorn filled fun and your very own bar! There's still space for storage too, and the utility area is also down here. The first floor has the large family sized bathroom. It has a cast iron roll top bath, a separate shower and stone tiles. Next door is the Master.

The master bedroom is s very good size, the superking size bed fits perfectly here. It has built in storage adn there'es even space for all your wardrobes and drawers. The window lets in loads of light too. The second & third floor hold the final 3 bedrooms, and additional wc too. Pretty handy.

Hello Secret Garden...

This home in the heart of the village, like many of the homes here, has a secret garden. Walk across crunching stones underfoot, cut the corner of a beautiful meadow to find your secret garden. You really will feel free from the confines of your lovey home, but, to get a away from life you'll love this peaceful space. Its ready for you to make this whatever you wish. We love that it has stone walls, grass and it even has a shed. You could have this as a vegetable patch, it's the perfect place for a picnic or you could use this space to paint, read or even bask in the summer sunshine. It's a great bonus for this home and we like that it's a little further away. Your very own private escape.

Burton village itself is thriving. There's an active community of events, clubs and can make for a fairly busy social calendar. If you wish, but you can just enjoy the odd event if you wish. It's a very friendly village and very popular because it offers something for everyone. There's a local pub that is very well regarded locally, they do Sunday roasts and even have a pool table for a little recreation. The area is also popular as it s the gateway to the Lake District, Kendal or even the stunning Kirkby Lonsdale. There are 2 Motorway junctions just short drives away which makes it mega easy for a weekend way, north to enjoy the delights of Scotland or southerly on the M6 to get everywhere from Preston to Portsmouth. For a little shopping you can be in Lancaster in just 15 minutes for coffee shops and retail therapy.

Schools: For those where schools are important, Burton Morewood is excellent, we have first hand knowledge, or in the neighbouring village you've got Holme Primary School. There are also busses to the International Language School, Dallam at Milnthorpe and for village dwellers a free bus that takes your children to the very highly regarded Queen Elizabeth School in Kirkby Lonsdale.

Ps: There is no front picture as the weather has been a really rainy. We will be getting a good one soon! Why not just book the viewing as we can show you it then.
