With the high road comes shopping, restaurants, bars and entertainment, including the Red Lion gastro pub and the newly opened The Birds, both offering food, fine wines and craft beers. On the next road down you have Davies Lane Primary school, which is very popular and much in demand.

At the top end of Ferndale Road, you walk onto the open spaces of Wanstead Playing Fields and into Bush Wood, part of Epping Forest, meaning peace and tranquillity are never far away. Dog walkers, kite flying and jogging springs to mind and by living here, you can apply to join (fara) Ferndale Area Residents Association, which aims to encourage community spirit and improve the quality of life for residents in the area.
