The semi-wooded neighbourhood is interspersed with farms including Effingham Park Hotel and Golf Course and the Wire Mill Inn, a popular local public house, which overlooks a small weir and Wire Mill Lake. Copthorne Road runs through the centre of the village and links onto the A22 near East Grinstead, approximately 2 miles to the southeast. East Grinstead offers a mainline railway station with frequent services to London Victoria or London Bridge in just under the hour. Three Bridges station, Crawley is ideal for commuters and the Gatwick Express offers a regular service to London, approximately half an hour and Brighton, approximately forty minutes. The village ideally situated for access to the M23 and M25 motorways with Gatwick being the nearest airport.
