Directions From Kendal, follow the signs to Windermere. At Plumgarths roundabout, at the end of the Kendal bypass, follow the B5284, passing through the village of Crook, which has The Sun Inn, Church and Village Hall. Proceed for approximately 1.5 miles towards The Wild Boar Hotel. Just before The Wild Boar, turn left, towards Winster. Near the brow of the hill, turn left and follow the lane around to the left and the entrance to Bateman Fold is on the left hand side.
From the direction of Crosthwaite, in the centre of the village, follow the signs to Crook. Towards the top of the hill at the crossroads turn left and the entrance to Bateman Fold is on the right, after approximately ¼ of a mile.
