‘Millmead’ is understood to have been designed by Charles Bateman of Messers Bateman and Bateman Architect who created the existing accommodation out of two older cottages believed to date back as far as the 17th century.Originally situated in a meadow near Sarehole Mill on the southern outskirts of Birmingham according to a copy of Country Life Home and Garden book Volume IV dated 1922 to 1923.
