Description

The ‘New Mill’ is a beautiful, mature building situated in the heart of the quaint, country side village of Wainstalls. Although the luxury penthouse apartment comes with all the benefits of living in the country side, it is actually only located only a few miles out of Halifax centre. There is a regular bus service that runs from the terminus in the village which is less than a 5-minute walk from the Mill. There are good train links to Manchester and Leeds from local stations such as Halifax (4.3 mi), Sowerby Bridge (4.0 mi) and Mytholmroyd (4.3 mi).
Forming part of a converted 19th century textile mill, the recently refurbish (1996) property is stunning and offers outstanding rural views across the valley. Outside the Mill are communal gardens with patio and seating areas around the Mill pond/stream, along with a private carpark with parking for 2 cars.
The area contains many outstanding attributes, one of these being Wainstalls School, where Hannah Cockroft, a British Paralympian (who won two golds at The London 2012 Paralympic Games) studied. There are also 2 delightful, family run pubs in Wainstalls, these are: The Crossroads Inn and The Cat-i-th'Well.
Wainstalls is a very tight-knit and friendly community, populated mainly by farming families and people who work in prestigious industries. Although the village is generally quiet throughout, it compromises this on certain days such as the fountain switch on at Castle Carr. This usually happens around twice a year and is often accompanied by a sponsored walk which tends to bring people from across the Calder Valley through the village.
