True town living - noir by David Cliff - Even after over 20yrs of selling homes in this great town I still find myself looking at certain properties and wondering what they are like and if I`ll get to see inside. This incredible split level apartment in Broad Street was sold privately 5 years ago so I didn`t get to see it then but I have now, and it`s totally unique! Set in the heart of the center you are up and out the way on the first and second floor behind a stunning period elevation which on its` own has a grand presence and feel. The courtyard style ground floor gated entrance provides an enclosed area where just outside lies the covered car port style parking with attractive cobbled floor, a huge plus in the town and a feature that is becoming harder to find. The large split turning entrance takes you up to the impressive first floor and as you hit the upper hallway and look left and right you get your first idea of how big this place truly is, your eye line is taken straight through to the enormous feature bay window to the front, the light pours through. Turning right you wander down to the modern, well fitted kitchen, again the huge windows let the light flood in and the colors of contrasting worktops, units and choice of wall colouring really works well.
The front Drawing room is simply vast, a beautiful square room with one of the largest windows I think i’ve seen, this is the room for watching town life go by but it’s also incredibly quiet so you really feel as though you are simply people watching in peace, love it. As you can see from the pictures and floor plan you can easily have a seating and dining area here so a great room to relax and entertain with space. The third bedroom is also on this floor and a large double in itself but also offers the versatility to have an impressive office, snug or just a separate reception space with beautiful fireplace. The re-fitted family bathroom is then just a short hop away and has been really well done. Kept to a traditional black and white style with brick formation tiling it really suits the property, the two windows here again continue the theme of light and bright.
Moving to the top floor along the impressive staircase you’ll notice windows again, all the way through the stairwell and on the landing here you stroll to the front of the building to discover the guest and master bedrooms. The guest room is a lovely square double with dual aspect windows to the side and rear and one that any guest would be happy to stay over in. The master is the mirror of the drawing room so simply huge with two stunning front aspect full height windows looking over the rooftops beyond. It really has a hotel suite feel and you could furnish it as lavishly or simply as you wished and would still look great, a room that you’ll remember wherever you moved onto in the future.
This style of home would suit many different types of buyer and I would think long and hard about whether it could work for you, and then come and take a look.
