Property description

Purchasing this property with A lifetime lease

This property is offered at a reduced price for people aged over 60 through Homewise’s Home for Life Plan. Through the Home for Life Plan, anyone aged over sixty can purchase a lifetime lease on this property which discounts the price from its full market value. The size of the discount you are entitled to depends on your age, personal circumstances and property criteria and could be anywhere between 8.5% and 59% from the property’s full market value. The above price is for guidance only. It is based on our average discount and would be the estimated price payable by a 69-year-old single male. As such, the price you would pay could be higher or lower than this figure.

For more information or a personalised quote, just give us a call. Alternatively, if you are under 60 or would like to purchase this property without a Home for Life Plan at its full market price of £600,000, please contact Cubitt & West.

Property description

Balfour Road is one of Fiveways most desirable roads. Fiveways itself has grown in popularity over the years. Some people say this is due to the local schooling, both the primary and the secondary schools in the immediate area are considered some of the best in the city. This area doesn’t only offer excellent schools, parks and recreational facilities for families but also has many individual local shops, cafes, great pubs and takeaway style restaurants making it a very sought-after place to live whilst still offering a quiet residential area outside of the main city.

Transport links to London are great as you are not only close to the station but within easy access of the A27 and A23. A short walk into Brighton and you can be at Brighton’s famous beach in 30 minutes.

Walking in through the front door and into the entrance hallway you can immediately see how well loved this home has been over the years creating a warm and welcoming feel. In this particular Edwardian house, the layout isn’t ‘typical’ which makes the living accommodation extremely spacious and light.

Three of the four bedrooms are on the raised ground floor level and the lounge is up the stairs on the first floor, it really does work! The fourth bedroom is also on the first floor currently being used as a dining room. A door from the recently fitted kitchen/breakfast room leads out to the garden which makes the perfect spot for alfresco dining in the summer months.

What the Owner says:
I was drawn to my lovely home by the unusual ground floor/first floor arrangement. It made so much sense – wonderful views from the lounge, and direct access to my garden from the kitchen. The garden catches any sun there might be all day until well into the evening.

This neighbourhood is great – a mix of lovely families, and people like me in the phase of their lives when the children have all left home. Families appreciate the very good schools in this catchment area and they care about the local and school communities. I have loved this house – it will be a wrench to leave Brighton – but I am sure the new owners will be happy with the care I have given to it over the years.
