Towersey is a small rural parish in the North-East corner of South Oxfordshire. The village can be found in the Doomsday Book under its original name of Eye. The name Towersey derives from Richard de Tours, owner of the area whose family became known as the Tours of Eye which modified into Towersey and became the name of the village. It has a pub, the Phoenix Arts Studio and is within close proximity to the vibrant, English Market town of Thame., which has a wide range of shops and facilities. Towersey is in catchment for the Aylesbury grammar schools and Lord Williams Secondary School. The station, at nearby Haddenham, has access to London Marylebone (fastest train 34 minutes), Bicester, with its international Designer shopping area and Birmingham. The M40 is a short drive away giving access to London, Birmingham and the northern networks
