North Hill House has a long history having been built in the early 18th Century by, according to local historian J H Lloyd, a local brewer. In 1813 the house was used as a school run by Mary Porter. The original construction was embellished in the early/mid 19th Century with the addition of the porch and side extension, followed by further alterations in the second half of the 19th Century and in the early part of the 20th Century. The distinctive red brick façade only tells half the story.

A combination of elegance and original charm blend together in what is a wonderful character filled residence, offering in excess of 4000 square feet of versatile accommodation, with the most enchanting of private walled gardens.

A timber panelled entrance hall with turning staircase sets the scene and leads you to a selection of fine rooms across the ground floor to include a fabulous drawing room with marble fireplace, bay window viewing onto the garden and tall ceilings with elaborate covings. The dining room, also with fireplace, has characterful features & detailing, whilst a snug reception room with French doors to the gardens provides a cosy evening retreat. A traditional kitchen breakfast room with aga and dresser unit sits at the rear of the house and enjoys dual aspects overlooking the garden. There is also an atmospheric barrelled ceiling games room and a particularly useful store room on the lower floor.

The striking master bedroom with fitted wardrobes is complete with an en suite shower room, whilst an equally generous second bedroom has an en suite bathroom. The 3 further bedrooms, of differing sizes and much character, share the family bathroom.

Externally, the wonderful mature garden offers a collection of different quarters, each about to explode into colour yet already offering hidden vantage points to look back at and admire the Grade II Listed characterful residence set behind its walled frontage.

Situated along North Hill, the house is convenient for the array of local stores, fine eateries
and amenities of Highgate Village together with its excellent educational facilities to include Channing and Highgate Schools. The popular wide open spaces of Highgate Wood, Waterlow Park and Hampstead Heath are all within close proximity. Highgate Underground Station (Northern Line) and the A1 provide easy rail and road connections into and away from central London.
