Description

Introduction

This is a substantial character house situated in the centre of the village yet with a lovely sheltered south facing garden to the rear.

The village lies on the Grand Western Canal, along which are some lovely level country walks. Within the village is a very popular Farm Shop and the local pub is worth frequenting. The village is perfectly placed for those needing to commute as the motorway and train station are within easy reach as is Tiverton, with a very regular bus service running between the town and Parkway train station.

The house originally had an attached coach house which has been converted into a large reception room and a dining room on the ground floor with two bedrooms and a bathroom above. The original part of the house offers a lovely kitchen / breakfast room with an Aga and stable doors to the patio, and a cosy sitting room with a multi fuel stove. A staircase leads up to three more bedrooms and another bathroom.

The property now offers a great deal of character with plenty of space, and with two staircases the accommodation is perfectly suited to a growing family where teenagers might want their own space and adults theirs!

The garden to the rear is very sheltered and being south facing provides a secluded area which is mainly laid to lawn with a large raised patio for entertaining.

There is plenty of parking at the the side of the house and if required, a large gate opens to the patio area should you wish to bring a vehicle in.

Halberton lies about three miles to the west of Tiverton and about three miles east of Junction 27 of the M5 with its adjoining parkway station from where one can reach Paddington in about two hours.

Tiverton is a busy market town with a population of about 24,000 offering a good shopping centre and an excellent range of educational facilities including Tiverton High School, Petroc College, and Blundells Independent School for boys and girls with its associated preparatory school.

Tiverton Golf Course lies about a mile and a half away. Exeter Airport lies within about twenty minutes drive.
